misty harbor hotel & casino…

i don’t know

a girl in a short black skirt
skates by into the wind.
she’s new here, or
maybe lost on the way
to somewhere else.

a girl in a short black skirt
skates below,
while I smoke and think about
some other girl
who never skated by.

In the cool breeze of late
winter,
nobody should be wearing
that short of a skirt.
She don’t seem
to mind the cold,
and it seems odd,
just tangential
to the cold.

There’s a girl in a short black
skirt, on a skateboard
in the cold.
